The more you know about your pregnancy and your options, the more you are likely to feel in control. The information given here is based on The Pregnancy Book, which your midwife should give you at your first appointment.
Before you are pregnant
Newly pregnant?
You do not need to see the Doctor when you confirm your pregnancy. At 6-8wks you will need to self refer to the Maternity Unit by calling 01722 425185, leaving a message for the Shaftesbury Midwife Team.
From this initial contact you will be given a Midwife appointment and your pregnancy and birthing options discussed in detail.
