Patient Services Administrator Vacancies

An opportunity has arisen for 2 Patient Service Administrator’s to join our friendly team.

The hours will vary from 8.00am to 6.30pm Monday – Fridays.  You may also be required to cover early mornings from 6.45am when another member of staff is on holiday.

Each post is between 21 and 25 hours a week.

This is a very demanding role and we do require a flexible and proactive attitude with the ability to cover for additional hours that will arise during particularly busy periods or to allow for holiday cover.

We are looking for a friendly Patient Services Administrator to join our semi-rural, traditional Practice of over 12,500 patients. The role is a key position, being first point of call to all patients and visitors. You will be working as part of a small team ensuring that the reception runs smoothly. 

This varied role requires the following skills: 

  • Advising patients of test results
  • Processing eConsults and eConsult Lite
  • Registering new patients
  • Photocopying, scanning and filing of records
  • Attaching emails to patients records
  • Answering all incoming calls from patients on a daily basis
  • Dealing with requests from patients
  • Issuing prescriptions
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both spoken and written
  • Have a good understanding of Microsoft office, to include Word 
  • Have the ability to maintain confidentiality and data security
  • Possess some experience within a medical or NHS environment
  • Have the ability to adapt and manage workload dependent on the priority level
  • Possess experience within a customer facing role.

Advanced Nurse Practitioner/ Emergency Care Practitioner

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our highly respected and friendly practice. Our well-established practice has a committed team and excellent performance against local and national requirements. Gillingham Medical Practice is a two-site PMS practice with six GP Partners, providing high quality primary healthcare to a geographically extensive rural population of over 12,500 patients.

We have a thriving team of nurse practitioners, working closely with our GPs, practice nurses and HCAs, as well as our fantastic administrative support staff. We are a training practice for registrars and medical students.

The right candidate will be confident in working independently to support GP surgeries. The candidate will be able to assess, examine, diagnose and treat patients or escalate them to a GP appointment, as appropriate. The ability to undertake some home visits is desirable. The candidate will be able to manage varying workloads and be confident to adapt to the changing demands of GP Practice.

A prescribing qualification and experience of telephone triage is essential. We would expect you to have good clinical, written and verbal communication skills and be competent with IT. We use SystmOne.

The GP Partners would develop and mentor this role, offering further support and training to the right candidate.

Hours per week by negotiation.

Competitive salary dependent on experience and qualifications. NHS Pension and competitive annual leave allowances.
