Enhanced Access

These appointments will be available to book in advance with reception and online.

Extended hours services are generally very busy, so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery reopens. In a genuine emergency, you should call 999.

The Barn Surgery Extended Access Hours:

  • Monday: 7am to 8:30am
  • Thursday: 6:30pm to 7:30pm

Peacemarsh Surgery Extended Access Hours:

  • Wednesday: 7am to 8:30am

Enhanced Access

As patients, you may have heard in the local news that enhanced access to Primary Care Services is being reviewed in North Dorset and across the country.

We are working to improve access to appointments for our patients, in particular at evenings and weekends. On some occasions, we are able to offer Saturday appointments at Shaftesbury War Memorial Hospital. If you would like to be offered one of these appointments, please ask Reception for availability.

We also offer Saturday clinics by appointments at seasonal times of the year to support Flu and Covid vaccinations.

Life Threatening

Call 999 or go to A&E now if:

  • you or someone you know needs immediate help
  • you have seriously harmed yourself - for example, by taking a drug overdose

A mental health emergency should be taken as seriously as a medical emergency.

Urgent But Not Life Threatening

Visit an urgent care centre if:

  • You have an urgent medical issue requiring on the day attention

Non-urgent

  • You need help now, but it's not an emergency
